As a part of my internship at Polimekanos studio I redesign of Antique Olive typeface. A humanist sans-serif typeface. Along the lines of Gill Sans, it was designed in the early 1960s by French typographer Roger Excoffon, an art director and former consultant to the Marseilles based Fonderie Olive. The redesign approach of the typeface is more modern, natural way with less contrast. First I start analyzing the original font, finding its strongest elements and then tried different contrasts and widths that will work the best for the new design. The typeface was later used in the Parsing Digital book that was made for Austrian Cultural Forum with Sally Golding.
